A participatory meal/performance in a former church in Rockland, Maine. I served bread, soup, and cake to 100 people.
Constructed in 1851, this building served many congregations. Exploring this site’s architectural significance and its presence in the industrial city, I hosted a public meal as an invitation to continue to explore what social connectivity means here. People participated in cultivating a sense of hospitality between one another—the act of breaking bread as a vehicle for social and cultural exchange.
